Dick Bennett, now 93, enjoyed an exceptionally successful business career.
With a knack for success, he built multiple thriving companies, allowing him and his wife to enjoy their golden years together—and for a time, they did just that. Then, life took an unexpected turn. Their eldest son passed away after a long illness, and shortly afterward, his wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, which ultimately led to her death. As if that wasn’t enough, Dick’s businesses began to falter, and his financial situation spiraled, leaving him unable to cover his monthly expenses. His home fell into disrepair, and in his 90’s, Dick found himself with no place to turn.
One day at church, by chance, Dick met Terry Collier and the two quickly formed a bond. Terry started asking Dick about his struggles and soon realized that he had no one to turn to and was overwhelmed with stress. Terry reached out to another local community leader, Tom Whiddon, and together they began crafting a plan to help ease Dick’s burdens and restore his peace of mind. What followed was a two-year journey through Dick’s business and personal challenges—meetings with attorneys, scheduling home repairs, and finalizing business matters. Eventually, Dick’s life began to fall back into place, and his worries faded away.
